About the Role

The Financial Accounting Manager will lead core accounting operations with a focus on claims accounting, financial accuracy, and continuous process improvement. This hands-on leader will oversee daily transactional activity, month‑end close processes, team development, and cross‑functional collaboration to support the growth of TQL’s financial organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage day‑to‑day claims accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial transaction recording
  • Oversee month‑end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal policies, ensuring strong accounting controls
  • Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements
  • Support implementation of new tools, technologies, and automation to improve efficiency and reduce expense
  • Partner cross‑functionally with operations, finance, and technology teams
  • Set team goals, coach and develop staff, and ensure performance metrics are met
  • Prepare and review reporting to support audits, business partners, and executive leadership
  • Stay current with industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Leadership experience managing accounting teams in a high‑volume environment
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP experience (Oracle preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills; exposure to BI tools a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with a high standard of accuracy
  • Process improvement or automation project experience
