Overview: The International Sales Manager will lead the efforts to build and grow the international sales team to assist TQL customers with transportation needs including ocean, air and customs paperwork while providing outstanding customer service. In addition, the International Sales Manager will be responsible for hiring, coaching and development of all team members.
Identify and establish relationships with ocean and air carriers.
Negotiate and establish pricing for international shipping needs.
Build effective relationships across the organization to help achieve all process improvements and completion of projects.
Lead the development and training of new employees as the department grows.
Responsible for communicating updates, progress and issues to the Executive Sales Director.
Identify and establish relationships for customs clearance and compliance.
Travel as needed for customer & carrier meetings.
Successfully achieve department goals while leading by TQL’s Winning Principles.
You need the following:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum three years of experience working for a licensed Freight Forwarder in a similar role.
Strong sales and negotiation skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate others.
Must exhibit strong sense of integrity in daily business practices.
On call, receiving calls from carriers, clients, prospects and TL LAEs 24/7/365.
Confident decision maker.
Leads by example.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
